There are so many vehicles on the road today. We can insure just about anything. AZ 101 takes pride in tailoring a policy to match your needs and style. If you're a new driver, or covering the whole family, we believe car insurance can be both quality and affordable.
Arizona auto insurance is a complicated matter. Many people have an insurance policy but do not exactly understand how they are covered or what they will do if they find themselves in the position of needing to utilize their insurance. Discover the basic types of car insurance and find out how to obtain the coverage that may be better to have. We are here to answer your questions and make recommendations. Arizona has a high number of uninsured drivers, and we are a melting pot of all blending in different driving styles from all over the world into one large wide-open city where too many drivers do not obey the speed limit.
It's easy today to go online for car insurance quotes, but it will not do any good if you are not matched to the right company. We understand how the algorithms work and when you combine this with years of experience, not many agencies can compete with Az 101.
A few too many photo radar tickets and paying high rates? We do encourage you to slow down, and if you must speed save it for the track and give us a call to see if you're eligible to purchase insurance for the track. (Chandler, Phoenix, Scottsdale)
Collision Coverage – This is the basic insurance type that covers your vehicle if you collide into something. This covers collisions with other cars as well as if you were to run into a wall, barrier or bridge.
Comprehensive Coverage – Covers damage that may happen to your car that is not directly related to a collision. This would include things such as theft, fire, hitting a deer or vandalism.
Liability Coverage – This type of coverage covers the damages when you are at fault in an accident, and you damage someone else’s car or property. Liability coverage is often mandated by law, so it is important that you as the driver make certain you have an adequate amount.
Medical Payments – This is also called PIP in some states. Medical payments pay for any injury to the driver or passengers that occur if an accident occurred while you were driving. Medical payment insurance varies from state to state, so make certain you are covered as expected.

AZ 101 understands and respects your final decision on insurance coverage election. We live in a time where anyone can go online to shop insurance to find the cheapest rates. There are even websites by default will automatically start at the lowest coverage levels and often times leave out uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to make the rate appear like the best option. However, it's fair to believe insurance coverages and endorsements and how they work is not common knowledge to every consumer.
We also understand some consumers do know what this means, and they want the cheapest rate to be "legally" able to drive on the road. At the end of the day, whatever your final choice may be, we encourage you to take a moment to think about some of the reasons why higher insurance coverage might be better over the state minimum limits. There is never a guaranty you will always be covered for every scenario that occurs, no matter what your limits are.
The general message here is to encourage drivers to consider why carrying more than just the bare minimum by creating a buffer in effort to lower the exposure of potentially not having enough insurance coverage to cover some or all the cost of an occurrence when the liability is determined which driver(s) are at fault and found responsible for the losses incurred. Not having enough coverage may lead to an out-of-pocket expense if the liability limits are exceeded.
*** These example scenarios below are for demonstration purposes only. Please note in a real-world circumstance other factors could come into play that could affect the actual outcome***
We are only going to discuss liability insurance here:
As of 2021 the state minimum limits for bodily injury and property damage in the state of Arizona are: $25k/$50k/$15k. If you do not add uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to your policy. The maximum this policy might cover is $25,000 per person, however the bodily injury aggregate (total payout) limit is $50,000, and the total property damage coverage is $15,000.
Let's use the ARIZONA state minimum limit amounts as a possible scenario:
A single car accident occurred when the driver with a passenger swerved to avoid a deer while traveling along a country road and the driver lost control, veered off the road and slammed into a property owners' fence, taking out a mailbox and a small flagpole along the way.
The paramedics arrive and tend to minor injuries and both occupants are transported via ambulance for further observation but soon released with no major or long-lasting injuries. Let's say the total medical bills from the ambulance ride and minor injuries are covered and do not exceed the bodily injury limit. However, the property owner's mailbox, flagpole, and fence end up costing $22,500 to replace and repair and it's determined this policy will only payout $15,000 for property damage. This creates the realistic possibility the responsible party has an out-of-pocket expense of $7,500 not including any other potential damages, or expenses that may have occurred.
Is this one circumstance where higher limits could have avoided an out-of-pocket cost and does the driver have enough funds available to cover this cost? What happens if this individual is unable to pay?
Let's use this same scenario but instead of hitting a fence the vehicle hit a tree and the passenger sustained injuries requiring surgery and rehabilitation and total medical bills were $82,000. What if instead of a tree, a pedestrian was checking the mail? There are countless scenarios that could play out and real ones that do play out every day and there is no way to guarantee you could have enough coverage for every possible scenario. At the same time, you cannot go back and make changes once something happens.
Lowers coverages create more exposure and likelihood of having an out-of-pocket cost and this can be mitigated by higher coverages. It's safe to say, the more a policy will cover the more exposures it will cover.
As your agent I can advise you of "what if" scenarios. We can discuss and strategize how to create a buffer in effort to create more protection of your assets by providing you with knowledge to make a better-informed decision based on your risk and tolerance level in effort to better shield you against the perils possible while out on the road.

GAP Insurance comes in handy if your vehicle is totaled. Here's why, insurance typically only pay's Actual Cash Value (ACV) and your loan balance could be much higher than the value of your vehicle. If this is the case, you will have an out of pocket balance with your bank to cover the difference. This endorsement will fill in the gap and can cover up to 150% of the retail value. Most dealerships sell this during the finance process so you may be covered. This is a good conversation to have with AZ 101 Insurance. (As a rule of thumb, you can visit KBB.com and look up the trade-in value estimate of what the ACV may be.)
